We’re seeking funding for our trip to London in April for the CyberCenturion National Finals and should be grateful if you would consider sponsoring us.

The Isle of Man Code Club has been invited to take part in the 2022 CyberCenturion National Finals and this is the first time that both Manx teams have won places in the top 15 of the competition, achieving some of the highest scores of the 400 teams that participated this year. Our aim is to raise £3,000 to give them the best chance of being crowned the best teams in Britain.

Every year, Code Club submits teams to the CyberCenturion competition, a national cyber education initiative for 12- to 18-year-olds across the British Isles. The program is designed to excite, educate and motivate students to pursue further education and careers in STEM and cybersecurity, introduce the students to a highly sought after career path, and nurture local talent in places like the Isle of Man.

This year’s competition has been running since October 2021 and the teams have taken part in three competitive rounds where they faced various cybersecurity challenges to test their skills and abilities. In each session, the teams had a number of computers to protect; removing vulnerabilities and hardening the machines to make them more secure. At the end of the three sessions, one of the Manx senior teams was placed 2nd overall and one of the junior teams achieved 2nd place in the Junior Mixed Team category.

In 2021, one team, CyberAces, made it to the national finals which were held remotely. A short video of the day can be seen below.

Thank you for your time and any assistance you’d be willing to provide.
