This Saturday at 4:00pm we’ll be having our last lesson in our HTML/CSS class, where we’ll be getting a little taste of Javascript and creating a pixel editor together. It’s the most advanced class in this series and hopefully will encourage our students to continue down the path they have started. At 5:00pm we’ll be continuing with our Roblox Scripting class, which seemed really intense last week. Lots of good stuff and lots of potential.

Now that HTML/CSS is over, we’re starting a fresh Scratch class which we have just adverted on CoderDojo (¬† ). This is aimed at those who have never programmed before, particularly ideal for 8-12 year olds. It introduces students to the world of programming and through block-based scripting we’ll be introducing concepts like problem solving and computational thinking. We only have 10 spaces and expect there to be in high demand, so if you want to join, head down to CoderDojo right away:¬†

And finally an appeal. The Isle of Man Code Club is still looking for sponsorship to help us keep offering the classes and opportunities we provide at no cost. We have already had a number of individuals and organisations help fund a project, but still need a sustaining partner to keep the lights on.
