HTML, Roblox and more events

This Saturday we’ll be continuing our current classes, with the HTML/CSS class learning all about positioning in HTML and using their newfound skills to build an on-screen Robot at 4:00pm. The 5:00pm class is dedicated to Roblox and is the final class in the Roblox Studio series. Last week the class built an airport together and there’s going to be lots of to do this week. We’re planning a Roblox Programming class next, aimed at more advanced students who now want to build their own code assets in Lua. We’ll be announcing this on CoderDojo on Saturday, so watch this space!

We also have a robotics stream going on at Code Club on Saturday using Lego Mindstorms to create and program all sorts of robots. The kits are still being rebuilt so we’re not offering a formal class in this space, but there’s lots to discover and learn. Besides this, we also have a CyberSecurity stream that’s running on Tuesday between 6:00pm and 8:00pm. The group is training for the Cybercenturion challenge, but also open to anyone who’s interested in Cybersecurity.

Just a couple of announcements to close off with:

  • The BCS have an interesting event this Thursday on the Internet of Things with Dr Alasdair Allan. You can read more about it here: http://www.bcs.org.im/2017/09/internet-of-things-with-visiting-speaker-alasdair-allan/
  • Code Club has been nominated Finalist for the Awards for Excellence 2017 under the Digital Champions category. We’re delighted by this and want to thank everyone who has contributed in some way to helping our success.
