We're progressing with our HTML/CSS class (between 4:00pm and 5:00pm) and this week will be creating a web page with a recipe on it. This will enable us to explore more of what CSS can offer and introduce new HTML tags for making lists and other elements on a page. I'm pleased to say that we started with a full class and the entire class is still fully engaged, no drop-offs and the room is packed with lots of energy. Here's to continuing the rest of the course in the same vein! This week we're also starting something new. David, one of our long-time students, has stepped forward to deliver a class on Roblox Studio, something he's quite passionate about. This is aimed at students who have played Roblox and would like to learn how to create their own world. We recommend you get your own machine for this session. The class will run between 5:00pm and 6:00pm and has 6 places, so if you're interested in joining, please check out the STEAM Lab page on CoderDojo and book a seat. Book yourself on here: https://zen.coderdojo.com/dojos/im/douglas/douglas-iom-steam-lab We're also planning on cracking open our Lego Mindstorms kits this weekend. We haven't used them in a while but seeing we have space to use these and volunteers on hand to help, it feels like a good time to get this stream going again, and provide a basic introduction into the fascinating world of robotics. We’re also looking for new ideas and volunteers for Code Club. If you’re interested in technology, want to share what you know with others and can spare some time, why don’t you get in touch to see if you can help. We have equipment to teach coding, 3D printing, virtual reality, electronics and a host of associated disciplines. Alternatively, you can also help by purchasing something off our Wishlist. See you Saturday!
