We’re starting a new class this Saturday, HTML/CSS for Juniors. It aims to teach students how the web works, how to build web pages and how to tweak existing sites. It’s aimed at 8-12 year olds, but also suitable for older students who would like to understand how the Web works. This is a 12 week class, running on Saturdays between 4:00pm and 5:00pm. Anyone who would like to join, please sign up for it on CoderDojo.

And for the WordPress users out there, a reminder that we are starting an Isle of Man WordPress User Group meeting on the first Monday of every month. Our first meeting is on the 4th September. If you use WordPress, build for WordPress or simply want to learn more about this Web platform, sign up for the Inaugural Meeting next week.

We’re still looking for more participants for this year’s CyberCenturion challenge. Aimed at 12-18 year olds, this is a contest with teams all over the British Isles competing in a Cybersecurity contest culminating in a final in March 2018. If you enjoy puzzles, code breaking and cyber, get in touch NOW as we’re still forming teams for this contest.

On a final note, if you want to help with what we’re doing at STEAM Lab we have a number of opportunities for you to contribute. We’re also looking for people who want to volunteer their skills and their time. If you want to learn more, drop us a comment below. You can also help by donating some kit to help us deliver more classes. If you want to help us in this way, you can buy us something from our Amazon wishlist.
